California to Ban Ozone Air Purifiers

As reported today in the LA Times, the California Air Resources Board will ban the sale of ozone air purifiers to residents in the state starting in 2009. This is great news for those suffering from asthma and COPD as ozone has been shown to make their environments worse.

The article further goes on to say that the safest and most effective air purifiers utilize HEPA filters that need to be replaced. Among the indoor air quality community this has been the consensus for years. It's great that a progressive state like California is taking the lead to protect their residents.
